Brief About:

Over the last 6 years, I have developed a passion for working with others to identify and work towards achieving their personal health & wellness goals.

I have hands on experience in applying effective treatment through Remedial Therapy to provide relief for chronic pain. This includes, scoliosis, back pain, frozen shoulder, arthritis, meniscus, sciatic and plantar facia, just to name a few.

I have opened my own clinic as I had identified a greater need for Remedial Therapy to become more than a walk-in-walk-out service. It is health care & I wish to demonstrate that in my own personal clinic without any pressure to minimise my services through rushed booking times of a busy spa or storefront clinic. I have no desire to compete with the larger corporate clinics, my aim is to remain flexible and keep my client base small so my service remains the highest quality.

My Why:

Although I had never thought I would be working within the health industry, life does throw some hefty curveballs in front of you that presents different opportunities you never even considered.

An example of one of the curveballs we have caught was right in my husbands spine – 4 of them in fact – we shall call these curveballs herniated discs (ouch).

We had been to doctors, physio’s, spinal surgeons, chiropractors & have had no luck in finding any promise of permanent relief. Anyone who has suffered back pain before know how debilitating this can be & if you are reading my personal bio, it’s probably because you are as sceptical at choosing the right therapist to treat your pain as we are. You don’t want just anyone touching your spine!

I had also suffered from frozen shoulder for 8 years – and before I knew any better – I’ve had the injections into both bursa’s with the problem returning as the doctor promised it most likely would.

During our investigations of trial & error to find suitable treatment for our bodily woes, we had found that massage (particularly deep tissue & trigger point) – if applied correctly – can provide the most effective relief and enhance mobility, which is extremely important when recovering from an injury.

However, we found a lot of “trained” therapists could not help us effectively. We filled in the forms, discussed our issues & then walked out disappointed & usually sorer or with bruising & no more educated about the treatment we received than when we started.

We were looking at long term pain management. How can we improve my husbands quality of life? How can he continue to work in the construction industry with 4 herniated discs in his back?! Thus started my 5 year journey into massage & obtaining my Diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy.

I’m not here to make you any promises of “cures” for your chronic pain conditions, I wish I could but that is not how my story goes. However, we have gone from needing to conduct remedial massage almost daily for my husband to monthly. Back spasms are dealt with before they become an issue & my frozen shoulder is now pretty much non-existent!

Over the years I have assisted clients with a wide range of issues, including: scoliosis, sciatica, migraines, carpal tunnel, golfers & tennis elbow and plantar facia pain.

My technique is Swedish Massage – which is a gentler massage – so you can be sure you will walk out of the clinic feeling relaxed and better than when you walked in.

I had decided to open my own home based clinic as I am a huge advocate for holistic treatment and I thoroughly enjoy treating people that need assistance with their pain relief. (Side note: The wonderful clinic room was built by my husband – massage for back pain was needed for those works!)

It is so hard to find the right therapist for you, but maybe I am the therapist for you. And if not, maybe I can help you find the right one.
